  I love this place and always make an effort to return when I come to Port Hope. Admittedly the place is a little small, but it’s very rare that I’ve had trouble getting seating. The food has always been excellent, and their specials are always worth considering. A great place for a relaxed get-together with friends or family.

  Social is the key word here. Warm and friendly restaurant with excellent wait staff. Enjoyed the fish and chips which were not overly battered in pub kinda way. When in Port Hope, take a walk of the main drag to The Social and enjoy a quiet night out with great food and drinks.

  Stopped in off the highway after googling best pub in Port Hope. Was not disappoined at all. Very friendly and the food was delicious. And I loved the atmosphere.

  Stopped in January 2 on the way east on the 401. We had brunch that morning so were looking for “lupper”. Such a great meal, lovely service! I had the fish tacos - perfect amount for a light meal. Hubby had the amazing friend chicken sandwich (so good!!) and he raved about the tender lightly crisp chicken and super soft bun. Our younger son can’t stop talking about next time we go (cause we agree we are going back) when he orders the Mac and cheese again because he loved it so much. The older one had the poutine and it was also fantastic. Thanks for a great meal.

  From Ottawa and I would literally drive down to eat here every weekend if I could. Service was outstanding, food was out of this world, decor is super trendy. I wish I could swim in a pool of their Mac and Cheese.
